Let’s Blog.
Whether you intend on blogging or not, I strongly advise you to set-up a blog. Blogging is by far the best way to build a strong, email buyers list. I’ll cover how to advertise that blog later, let’s just concentrate now on setting up and writing a Blog.
On your WordPress dashboard, go to Post on the left side menu. At this point we are using the WordPress Editor, Click Add Post. Write the Name of Your Blog, under that you’ll see a “Type to choose a Block” move to the right of that and click the plus sign. This will take you to the different styles of blogs.
Write your first Blog.
This can be about a Niche or product you are becoming an affiliate for, or you can just write about yourself. What are your credentials, work history, explain how you’re competent in the area of your niche, etcetera. Well, you get the idea. Just make the Blog, relevant and informative. Give the reader some value for spending his or her time with you. Let them know what is coming next to get them to comeback to your blog.
Get the reader involved, have them comment or tell their own story. Just make sure that the conversation stays on a positive outlook. If you have a person comment that is being negative, just delete them. It won’t do you or your other readers any good and a negative mind set is not good.
In this section we are going to learn how to monetize a blog.
Appearance of your blog post with WordPress.
Writing your blog post has a similar technique as writing an email. You want to engage the reader with emotion, address the importance of the blog post, highlight your target audience, and be sure to always include your level of expertise.
I like to save periodically as I’m setting-up and writing my blog, just in case something happens so I don’t lose any work. I’ve even clicked out, by mistake, to check on something else and ended up losing all my work. So, save as a draft or just go ahead and publish every now and then. The Draft and Publish tabs are on the right side of the blog page. Don’t worry about messing anything up as it’s easy to fix.
I prefer my blog to be set up on the sidebar for blogs, for appearance’s sake, but it’s up to you how you present your blog on your landing page. To set that up, start with “Appearance” on the left menu, go to “Theme Options”, Click on “Blog”, when the smaller menu comes up, change the Homepage sidebar to the right. Going down the menu also changes the Blog Archive sidebar to the right as well, and then save your changes. You can set it up to be a full page or left justified, but I like the right justified. Just my opinion.
